Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original scholarly manuscripts to Borealis International Journal of Economics, Management and Accounting (BIJEMA). Manuscripts must be relevant to the journal’s focus and scope, have not been previously published, and must not be under consideration by another journal.

General Requirements

Authors must prepare their manuscripts using the official BIJEMA article template and retain the page size, margins, journal header, footer, and section order provided in the template.

Manuscripts must:

Be written in clear academic English.
Be submitted in editable Microsoft Word (.docx) format.
Use Times New Roman 12 pt and single spacing for the main text.
Contain approximately 6–20 pages, including tables, figures, and references.
Follow the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition for citations and references.

Title

The article title must be concise, informative, and accurately represent the content of the study. The title must not exceed 20 words and should be written in Times New Roman 14 pt, bold, uppercase, and centered.

Author Information

The full names of all authors must be written without academic titles. Each author must provide their department or study program, institution, city, and country. The corresponding author must be clearly identified and provide an active email address.

Abstract

The abstract must be written as one self-contained paragraph containing approximately 150–200 words. It should briefly present:

The research context or problem;
The research objective;
The research method;
The principal findings; and
The main conclusion or contribution.

The abstract must not contain citations, tables, figures, equations, or unexplained abbreviations. It must use Times New Roman 11 pt, italics, and single spacing.

Keywords

Authors must provide 3–5 keywords representing the main concepts of the article. Keywords must be arranged alphabetically and separated by semicolons.

Manuscript Structure

1. Introduction

The Introduction should explain the research context, significance of the topic, practical or theoretical problem, and relevant previous studies. Authors must clearly identify the research gap, novelty, and expected contribution of the study. The section should conclude with the research objective, research question, or hypothesis, where applicable.

2. Literature Review

The Literature Review should present the theoretical and empirical foundations of the study. Authors should synthesize previous research rather than merely list earlier studies. The principal concepts or variables and the relationships among them must be clearly explained. Where applicable, this section may include hypothesis development or a conceptual framework.

3. Research Method

The Research Method should clearly describe the research design, setting, population and sample, sampling procedure, data sources, operational definitions, measurement instruments, data collection procedures, and analytical techniques. Where applicable, authors should report instrument validity and reliability, software used, and ethical considerations. The explanation must provide sufficient detail for readers to understand and replicate the study.

4. Results and Discussion

The findings must be presented clearly and logically according to the research questions or hypotheses. Authors should report relevant results without unnecessarily repeating all values presented in tables or figures. The discussion must interpret the findings, compare them with previous studies, explain agreements or differences, and discuss their theoretical, managerial, policy, or practical implications. Authors may use the following subsections where appropriate:

4.1 Research Results

This subsection presents the principal analytical findings supported by relevant tables, figures, statistical results, or qualitative evidence.

4.2 Discussion

This subsection interprets the findings, relates them to theories and previous empirical evidence, and explains the contribution of the study.

5. Conclusion

The Conclusion must directly answer the research objective and emphasize the principal contribution of the study without merely repeating the Results and Discussion section. Authors may briefly present practical implications, research limitations, and realistic recommendations for future research or implementation. No new data or findings may be introduced in this section.

Tables

Tables must be submitted as editable Word tables and must not be presented as images. Each table must be numbered consecutively and cited in the main text. The table number and title must be placed above the table using the following format:

Table 1. Descriptive title

Authors must use consistent decimal places, units, and terminology. Notes or source information should be placed below the table when necessary.

Figures

Figures must be clear, centered, and provided at an appropriate resolution. Each figure must be numbered consecutively and cited in the main text. The figure caption must be placed below the figure using the following format:

Figure 1. Descriptive title

Figure captions should use Times New Roman 10 pt. The original source must be acknowledged when a figure is adapted or reproduced from another publication.

Equations

Each equation must be presented on a separate line and numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals in parentheses aligned to the right. Variables should be written in italics, and every symbol must be defined when it first appears. Authors must use measurement units consistently and refer to equations by their assigned numbers in the main text.

Citations and References

BIJEMA uses the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition citation and reference style.

Authors must ensure that:

Every source cited in the manuscript appears in the reference list.
Every reference-list entry is cited in the manuscript.
References are arranged alphabetically.
A hanging indent is applied consistently.
DOI information is provided as an active URL whenever available.
Recent and relevant peer-reviewed journal articles are prioritized.

The use of reference-management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote is strongly recommended.

Originality and Publication Ethics

Submitted manuscripts must represent original work. All ideas, words, data, tables, figures, and other materials obtained from external sources must be properly cited and acknowledged. Manuscripts may undergo similarity screening before peer review. Authors must not submit the same manuscript to another journal while it is under consideration by BIJEMA. All authors must comply with BIJEMA’s Publication Ethics, Plagiarism Policy, Copyright and License, and Peer Review Process.
