Author Guidelines

Authors intending to submit a manuscript to the Sandhana International Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies (SIJMS) must prepare their manuscript in accordance with the following guidelines.

1. General Requirements

The manuscript must be an original work that has not been previously published and is not under consideration by another journal.
The manuscript must be relevant to the multidisciplinary focus and scope of SIJMS.
Authors must use the official SIJMS manuscript template as the working document.
The journal header, footer, page size, margins, and order of sections contained in the template must not be altered.
The recommended manuscript length is 6–20 pages, including tables, figures, and references.
The manuscript must be prepared in an editable Microsoft Word (.docx) format.
The main text must use Times New Roman, 12 pt, single spacing, and justified alignment.
Authors must carefully proofread the manuscript for clarity, grammar, spelling, citation accuracy, and formatting consistency before submission.
All listed authors must have made a meaningful contribution to the manuscript and must approve its submission.
Authors must obtain permission to reproduce copyrighted photographs, figures, tables, datasets, or other third-party materials.
Research involving human participants, animals, confidential information, or other ethically sensitive matters must comply with applicable ethical and legal requirements.

2. Manuscript Organization

The manuscript must be arranged in the following order.

Article Title

The title must be concise, informative, and accurately represent the content of the manuscript. It must not exceed 20 words and must be written in Times New Roman, 14 pt, bold, and centered.

Author Names and Affiliations

Authors’ names must be written in full without academic or professional titles. Author names must appear below the article title in Times New Roman, 11 pt, bold, and centered. Each author’s name must be connected to the appropriate institutional affiliation using superscript numbers. The affiliation must include the department or study program, institution, city, and country. The corresponding author must be identified with an asterisk, followed by an active email address:Corresponding author: author@institution.ac.id. The information concerning the dates of receipt, revision, and acceptance will be completed by the editorial office and must not be filled in by the authors.

Abstract

The abstract must be written as one self-contained paragraph containing 150–200 words. It must briefly present:

the research context or problem;
the objective of the study;
the research method;
the principal findings; and
the main conclusion or contribution.

The abstract must not contain citations, tables, figures, equations, or unexplained abbreviations. It must use Times New Roman, 11 pt, italics, and single spacing.

Keywords

Provide 3–5 keywords representing the principal concepts of the manuscript. Keywords must be arranged alphabetically and separated by semicolons. Example: Keywords: digital society; educational innovation; social development; sustainability

3. Main Sections

1. INTRODUCTION

The introduction must explain the context and significance of the study, identify the practical or theoretical problem, and present the research gap supported by relevant and recent literature. Authors must clearly state the novelty or expected contribution of the study. The section should conclude with the research objective, research question, or hypothesis. In-text citations must consistently follow the APA 7th edition author–date system.

2. LITERATURE REVIEW

The literature review must establish the conceptual and empirical foundations of the study. Authors should synthesize previous studies instead of merely presenting them separately. This section should define the principal concepts or variables, explain their relationships, and demonstrate how the reviewed evidence supports the proposed framework or hypotheses. Priority should be given to credible, recent, peer-reviewed, and directly relevant sources.

3. RESEARCH METHOD

The research method must provide sufficient information for readers to understand and, where possible, replicate the study. This section should describe:

research design and setting;
population and sample;
sampling procedures;
data sources;
operational definitions;
research instruments;
data-collection procedures;
data-analysis techniques;
instrument validity and reliability, where applicable;
software used in the analysis, where relevant; and
ethical considerations, where applicable.

4. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

The findings must be presented logically according to the research objectives, questions, or hypotheses. Authors should report relevant descriptive, inferential, or qualitative findings without repeating every value already displayed in tables or figures.

4.1 Research Results

This subsection presents the principal analytical findings. Tables or figures may be included when they improve clarity. Statistical indicators or qualitative evidence must directly address the research objectives.

4.2 Discussion

The discussion must interpret the meaning of the findings and relate them to the theoretical framework and previous empirical evidence. Authors should explain agreements, differences, and unexpected results and clarify the study’s contribution to the relevant disciplinary or interdisciplinary fields. Theoretical, managerial, educational, technological, social, policy, environmental, or practical implications may be discussed according to the subject of the manuscript.

5. CONCLUSION

The conclusion must directly answer the research objective and emphasize the principal contribution of the study without merely repeating the results. Authors should briefly present the study’s practical implications, important limitations, and realistic recommendations for future research or implementation. New data, arguments, or references must not be introduced in this section.

4. Tables and Figures

Tables must be created as editable Word tables and must not be inserted as images. Table titles must appear above the table using the following format:

Table headings must be concise. Decimal places, measurement units, symbols, and statistical notation must be presented consistently. Notes and source information must be placed below the table when necessary. Figures must be clear, centered, and provided at an adequate resolution. Each figure must be placed after it is first discussed in the manuscript. Figure captions must appear below the figure in 10 pt font, using the following format:

When a table or figure is adapted or reproduced from another source, the original source and any required permission must be clearly stated. Every table and figure must be numbered consecutively and referred to in the main text.

5. Mathematical Equations

Each equation must be displayed on a separate line and numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals in parentheses. The equation number must be aligned to the right. Variables must be written in italics. Every symbol and abbreviation must be defined when it first appears, and measurement units must be used consistently. Equations must be cited in the text using their assigned numbers.

6. References

SIJMS applies the APA 7th edition citation and reference style. Only sources cited in the manuscript may be included in the reference list, and every in-text citation must have a corresponding reference entry. References must be arranged alphabetically and formatted using a hanging indent. Authors should prioritize recent, relevant, and peer-reviewed journal articles. When available, a DOI must be presented as an active URL, for example: https://doi.org/xxxxx. Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference-management software such as Mendeley or Zotero to maintain citation consistency.

7. Manuscript Submission

When the submission system is open, manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the SIJMS submission page. Authors must complete the required manuscript metadata and upload the editable .docx file prepared using the official template. Before submission, authors must ensure that:
